Meet Our Board-Certified Surgeons

Dr. Chris Dassler grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from the College of William and Mary with Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in Biology. He is an honors graduate of the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Dr. Dassler completed his residency training at U.C. Davis and is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He has contributed chapters for textbooks in small animal surgery, authored scientific papers, and given presentations at national veterinary surgery conferences. He worked as a surgical specialist in private practice outside Memphis, Tennessee for several years before returning to his home state to start his own surgical specialty practice.
 
In addition to a full range of soft-tissue and orthopedic procedures, Dr. Dassler performs hip replacements as well as arthroscopic and laparoscopic surgeries.

Dr. Christine Watson, also board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, grew up in Virginia before attending the University of Alabama to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She continued to Ross University in the British West Indies to finish her Veterinary degree. She then completed a rotating small animal internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.

Four additional years were spent at the University of Oklahoma, where she completed a residency in small animal surgery and a one-year clinical instructorship. Dr. Watson was an associate professor at Atlantic Veterinary College, Prince Edward Island, Canada for two years before working as a surgeon in private practice. Dr. Watson is trained in all levels of surgery and has a special interest in thoracic, hepatobiliary and urinary tract surgeries.
